A cast bronze applique depicting Ganymede on the back of an eagle which stands on a branch, with its wings partially folded, its neck twisted round to look upwards at the bearded face of Ganymede; the face and beard of Ganymede and the feathers of the eagle finely detailed, with an attractive dark olive-green patination overall. 
Mounted on a purpose-made stand (height with stand 6.1 cms). 
A rarely depicted subject.
