Full Description
Eastern Han Dynasty Camel Ding-Bowl
AD 25-220
Grey earthenware ding-tripod bowl in the form of a camel, the body of elliptical bowl form standing upon three legs, each ornamented with an animal's face, the shaggy head of the camel forming spout.
A nice piece, demonstrative of the popular Han technique of working with the surface of the clay alone and attesting to the popularity of the camel as a choice of subject given their wide use and presence within the early Chinese empire.
