Sui Dynasty Soldier

A.D 581-618

Orange earthenware soldier standing upon integral square base; Wears short soldiers tunic belted around the middle with decorative hem, breastplate and high collared shoulder cape, over trousers; Hands drilled and clasped in front of chest for standard; Round face with prominently moulded features, framed by low tightly fitting helmet with triangular brim and bulbous peak.

A good example of the type with attractive brown weathering.
