    Bronze Age Luristan Axehead

    Circa 2nd millennium BC.

    A cast bronze axehead with ribbed tubular socket and four spikes in openwork to the rear; the blade triangular and hooked with flanged edges.

    Bronze, 340 grams.

    Provenance: Acquired on the London art market in the 1980's.
