A Roman glass vessels described as candlestick unguentarium, due to its shape. Made from clear, very pale green-blue glass. The tall neck that is usual for this type merges into a bulbous body with a flattened base. The base's centre is slightly inverted.

These types of flasks were used to store the costly oils and unguents which were available from around the Roman empire. The contents of such bottles could be poured slowly in tiny drops, and the small mouth was easily stoppered.

Height 12.5 cms

Condition: Very Fine: Complete and intact with some surface encrustations.

Roman Eastern empire: Circa 2nd-3rd century AD.
