An exquisite and finely cast Tibetan gilded bronze statuette depicting a two-part figure of Yama Dharmaraja, literally the Lord of Death and King of the Law.

The buffalo headed deity is portrayed in a powerful stance, standing on top of a bull resting on a prostrate human figure. This scene represents perseverance over ignorance and worldly desires. The monstrous figure, shown holding a staff on his right hand, features flames-shaped hair, a crown of skulls and snakes wrapping his body. A beautifully rendered lotus base holds the composition. Base sealed.
