Alexander the Great was the king of the Hellenistic Kingdom of Macedon. He was born in 356BC and succeeded his father, Philip II, at just 20 years of age. His love of campaigning saw him build up one of the largest empires of the Ancient World in just ten years. He was undefeated in battle and is considered to be one of history’s most successful military campaigners.
