The ‘Warring States Period’ was an era in ancient Chinese history (471 – 221BC), which followed the ‘Spring and Autumn Period’ and concluded with the Qin wars of conquest. The vast majority of the art produced during this time was functional rather than decorative, and largely took the form of everyday wares, like this jar.
